An over-reliance on the role of individuals as “heroes” quickly devolves into martyrdom and the kind of self-immolation that serves nobody. The person who makes the tea and coffee serves the movement as much as the person on the podium.

I think it’s also about being more flexible in terms of how we define success. Organizing isn’t exempt from capitalist brainwashing that values individualism and short term payoff. Sometimes existing and persisting is in and of itself a win and we have GOT to be more aware of that.

I find it telling that so many of the Dem consultants/strategists/overpaid bloviators assume that "fighting for working-class people's needs and rights" requires bonus racism as a little treat for the poors

I've read a lot of Easterly, don't always agree with his conclusions - but 100% on his team here. Ending PEPFAR is indefensible unless hating poor people is your only decision-making metric.

I wonder how long it will take the White House to issue an apology on Powell's behalf. Criticising Dear Leader is a no-no.

Yeah, Americans really need to get over it. needing 800 sf for yourself and another 1000 sf for your stuff is... not improving quality of life

This Yougov survey contains an important finding: people who rely heavily on ChatGPT rate it as being "good" at tasks that we ABSOLUTELY know for sure it is very bad at

imo, this is a strong piece of evidence these heavy users simply do not ever check outputs
