How can we time a plan like this to not get mired in 5+ years of little pilots trying and failing?
Can’t afford that. If we accept that timing we will lose any opening and they will set up our shit to fail and then codify the failure in court.

Medicalized safe supply in Canada has had great positive impacts but been hampered by a variety of factors if I’m seeing it correctly from afar.
The state hasn’t allowed it to get the support needed to really make an impact. And as with all medicalized approaches it’s not agile or trusted by users

I firmly believe we will not achieve meaningful safe supply through legislation in the US
But it should be a high priority for the elements of the left who care to pressure electeds to get some loud demagogues demanding, justifying, agitating for it from positions of power and campaign trails (1/2)

They compiled their first year of data recently and nobody in their compassion club overdosed from their safe supply.
