There are washi tape-like stickers that have different shapes and textures. Also, they can be removed without leaving any residue.

The Idobao ID80 crystal edition is also a neat leyboard if you can find it used. They are usually affordable, look and sound great and are very mod-able.

Try the secondary markets. The influx of affordable keyboards has crashed the price of used luxury ones. I have seen Rama, Prototypist or other boards for 200-300 euros or so. Like that j01 here (as kit). Bonus: Instant availability.

Another quick tip for people diving deeper into the #mechanicalkeyboard hobby: Some old typewriters have MX compatible keycaps. Have a keycap puller ready when visiting flea markets or thrift shops and check - some look really great and are way more affordable than GMK sets!

Ouf, holee mods are too fiddly for me. If the properly lubed stabs still have issues, I find that poron strips & dimples under them does enough wonders. Can also be applied under the wire if dire.

This is another example for a great used second board to get deeper into the #mechanicalkeyboard hobby, the CustomMK Evo 70. Very easy to mod and customize since the plate is the housing. Sometimes findable for under 100€ fully built in weird colors.

One recommendation I always have for people getting deeper into the #mechanicalkeyboard hobby is: Buy used. Good keyboards are cheap now, so the hyper expensive keyboards of old are also pretty affordable. For example, you can get something like this RAMA Zenith for about 250€ (as barebone kit).
