I got my COVID booster (here in California) on Friday. All they asked (when I made the appointment) was if I had a medical condition. They did not ask what medical condition I had. Still, according to the government's inaccurate BMI measurement, I'm overweight, so I qualify.

This is the Bridge to Nowhere, in Angeles National Forest. Built as part of an unfinished highway project in the 1930s, the approaching road washed out during a 1938 flood, leaving the bridge accessible only by a 5-mile hike each way.

A new fire, the Hughes Fire, has broken out in northern LA County. I can see the smoke from my window even though it's ~60 miles away. 2 hours ago, it was 50 acres. Now it's 3400.

So the office, in an effort to be more "green" announced they're not providing free bottled water anymore. Instead, they have filtered water dispensers that they've installed, and they're giving away free reusable bottles.
