It's been 2 months since I put together a new deck, the lab has been quiet.
Lots of good things from Erinis last night, but plenty still to tinker with.
The deck felt vulnerable (despite what the screenshot would suggest), and reliant on Erinis & Street Urchin for removal.
I don't like that.

It's been 2 months since I put together a new deck, the lab has been quiet.
Lots of good things from Erinis last night, but plenty still to tinker with.

Miracles was a lot of fun, even if I feel I ran a terribly suboptimal list. Will be pivoting to Jeskai Miracles for next week.
Pillar of Flame, Thunderous Wrath and Bonefire of the Damned feel well positioned, and the mana is significantly better.

The version of dormant below had some issues, chief among them the fact that the land supertype prevents you ever actually casting the spell.
I attempted 3 or 4 reworks of dormant in the frame template and could not get it to cover all the bases and fit in the space.

This is not a Moxtober 2025 submission. However, the Dormant mechanic evoked an idea for my custom set "Gloomsday", for a cycle of mythic rare Dormant Legends.

It just doesn't have the oomph of a mythic, I forgot to add justification for green and black mana, and the art is misaligned.

2 years ago, I designed Nocturnal (I don't remember the prompt), which basically gives permanents (mainly creatures) a buff when it's not your turn.
This resulted in Nighttime Prankster.

Part of the challenge of Moxtober is always trying to come up with compelling designs in a day or two.
This one started earnestly with the idea of a battle that doesn't really end, and has become my personal design hell for the majority of this week.
