Algeria and Morocco should be better covered in the European history books.
Sept. 1, 1925: Merchant ships are pressed into service in Spain’s port of Ceuta on the African mainland for a seaborne invasion of Morocco, while seaplanes reconnoiter the coast. Next week has been set for the full-scale Spanish offensive against the Rifian insurgents.
