For some people for many reasons but if you’re able to, I would highly recommend looking at different therapeutic approaches and finding therapists who use those. Otherwise just be honest about the process and whether things are working for you or not. Any therapist worth a damn is going to be open

And that’s been *really* helpful as an internalizer and as someone who feels very disconnected to my body. It was kind of a shock to find out that you’re supposed to uhhhhhhh actually physically *feel* emotions in your body. I know therapist shopping can be daunting and isn’t necessarily feasible

Totally understand this. I’m a major internalizer plus have a degree/worked in the psych field for a bit so while I found cbt helpful for times when I’m in a depressive state, for the most part it isn’t helpful in getting at the deep issues. I found a therapist who uses emotion focused therapy
