aside from cultural moment movies like endgame or the first two wars sequels, the only times i’ve had my theater applaud a movie were both paul thomas anderson films. just a funny coincidence i noticed, but well deserved for sure

watched Fire Walk With Me at an alamo and even though it was a rewatch, seeing it in a theater really elevated an already tremendous experience. my favorite part though is when this guy who i was talking about the movie with afterwards outside just casually pulled a cherry pie out of his pocket

finished ATLA book 1. if i had a nickel for every weirdly good children's animated series i'd seen about a young boy navigating war and resistance to fascism in which jason isaacs voiced an antagonist that dies at the end of season 1 to raise the stakes and introduce a Bigger Bad, i'd have 2 nickels
