Is it ill-mannered to say “gochisou-sama” (thanks for the meal) at a restaurant?!That’s the debate happening on Japanese social media. Some say it’s inappropriate bc you paid for the meal (“gochosou” means to treat someone). Others say shouting it loudly to the kitchen staff is doubly rude.
