This weekend in San Antonio ICE agents detained a 15-year-old girl in an effort to lure her parents out to verify their immigration status.

No commentary needed.

Speaks for itself.

I don’t think Governor Abbott and Texas Republicans have seen the new Superman.

A willingness to redraw congressional lines means either:

1. You’re doing what Trump demands because you are incapable of saying no, or

2. You actually want *more* of what is happening now.

Both are bad for Texas.

What kind of politicians only do what the rich and powerful tell them to? That’s what’s happening in Texas right now.

It’s weird to watch grown men—including the Governor—act like they have no choice.

No one can *make* you do anything. I had a dad, and his name wasn’t Donald.

A few things about vouchers:

1. I voted NO.

2. There was almost an opportunity for the public to vote on it. A few Republicans said they would help put the amendment on the bill. But that failed because…

3. Gov. Abbott had Trump call them. Seriously. After that, no deal.

Announcing potential raids at schools and churches—and local authorities’ willingness to cooperate in those raids—is cruel.

We can have a healthy, adult debate about the policy and economics of immigration.

But instilling fear in children is wrong.

Absolutely, part of the job is preventing—and hopefully undoing—harm. Either way, it’s a chance to try and make things better. That’s the job, I’m ready to work, and honored to do it on your behalf.

And yes, we missed school to hang out in Austin. Making it up today. Haha.
