It’s just one step from that statement -and feeling frustration at Democrats for not signing the dotted line - to realising that this means Republicans are holding the welfare of at risk women and children hostage (to name one example). A government that doesn’t have a nefarious agenda…

Karoline Leavitt says that the American public “want food assistance programs for women and children and impoverished communities to continue going out the door.” And “All of that will come to an end” if Democrats vote against the budget.

Trump’s government is one of headlines and playing on emotions using trigger words. It’s one of making inaccurate, poorly thought through or reactive statements (and actions). Democrats need to learn to flip the script, and there’s opportunity here to do so.
