I’m attempting to make an apron for my 6 year old nibling who will visit this week from Ireland (yay!). This is so we can do messy art projects but also to test the pattern as she asked to do sewing while she was here. My skills are middling so let’s see how this turns out!

Sometimes the world makes absolutely no sense. It is utterly unfair and completely nonsensical.
Death announcement from website RIP.ie of Dermot Hayes-McCoy of Enniscorthy, Wexford. It explains that he died unexpectedly in his 40th year, he is missed by his parents, two brothers, family and friends. Jane the Tiny cat, our houseguest, spent some time on the pillow next to me after I woke up from a nap. She’s a cat of contradictions - she was very keen on being petted but then suddenly bit my fingers. What gives, Jane? #cats

All done! My artist is Anya at Exp Haus in London and she is a GENIUS. This is a heart-shaped topaz gem. I chose a gem because they’re one of Anya’s specialisms and hallmarks. I chose topaz as it is the birth month of my niece and two nephews. #NewTattoo #Tattoo
A freshly finished tattoo on my arm, just under the bend and on the fleshy muscled area. It is a 4.4inch sized heart-shaped topaz gem tattoo. My artist is amazing and it is multi-faceted and coloured to look very realistic and sparkling in reaction to light. You can also see my wrist tattoo which is a ceramic-effect poppy and a daisy made from diamond petals surrounded by some green leaves.

My arm on a tilted table that is covered in film for hygiene. A heart shaped golden-yellow topaz gem tattoo is part-way complete. Also visible is part of a tattoo of ceramic-effect poppy and daisy made of diamond leaves with some green leaves surrounding them in my wrist. A hint of two other tattoos is visible also.

You know you’re at the Vagina Museum when….
A sculpture of a large erect penis and tested that has been studded with iridescent pearls. It is mounted on a metal stick. Three shop shelves. The top has earrings, ring and necklace that say “C*nt” from Hoops and Chains London. One of each is on display in opened boxes that they come packaged in and the necklace and earrings are also displayed on a black velvet neck and chest stand. In the middle row is products from Tatty Devine. Brooches, earrings and necklaces that say No, Equal Power, Women Unite, Periods, Equality Now and Girl Power in bold colours and patterns. They are displayed as the top shelf. The lower shelf has necklaces that say “My body my choice” and one of a uterus with the fallopian tubes giving the middle finger. It also has collars for sale with attached charms - a scissors and a male/female symbol. This shelf is also displayed as above.

My legs in pink and navy leopard print lounge bottoms with my feet tucked under a grey fleece blanket. I am lying on my left side on a teal green couch. My cat - a mackerel tabby with white socks and chest - is curled up sleeping next to my feet with his head and one paw resting on top of them. I’m obsessed with my cat’s hairy toes.

That was an enormous amount of fun!

It’s a windy day in Lanzarote but we went for a walk along the seafront to a marina. The choppy waves reminded me of a childhood friend who died a few years ago. On days like this we would go the the beach and hurl creative insults at the waves as the broke against rocks. Making each other laugh.

Greetings from Lanzarote ☀️
A bright light blue kidney shaped pool with a small walkway over it and a (big) hut that houses a cafe and bar. Surrounding the pool are some sun loungers with sturdy wooden umbrella shades. Further surrounding the pool and on multiple levels are the balconies and terraces of hotel rooms. It is spacious and all walls are white with all wood being dark brown. The sky is bright blue with some light clouds.

We did the most London thing this morning and queued for pastries at a trendy bakery.
A queue of about 20 people on a cobblestone side-street in London with old brick buildings on the right (The Horse Hospital to be precise). At the top of the queue is a small sign over the door to a bakery door that reads “Fortitude”. It is a lovely day with clear blue skies.

Today is Rare Disease Day. If I’d like you to know anything about having a rare medical condition it’s that it is an administrative nightmare that sucks up time & energy! Myself & 3 members of my family are each 1 in 100,000 with Holt-Oram Syndrome & 1 in 300 million globally with a rare disease.

I’ve decided that my first Bluesky post is going to be my cats as kittens, ta-da!
