BREAKING: Core inflation rose 0.3% in July and 3.1% year over year. This is the fastest annual pace in five months.

That's before most of Trump’s tariffs took effect in August. It’s only going to get worse.

Here in Alabama, a lot of folks are calling him these things because they’re just fncking dumbasses.
Just so we’re clear, everybody calling Kilmar Abrego Garcia a “terrorist” or a “gang member” are lying, and they know they’re lying, and they repeat it for purposes of confusing people who don’t follow this stuff closely into accepting what was done to him.

Whoa. This man is not given to hyperbole or alarmism.

Great resource!
With corporate media capitulating to trump, and subscribers cancelling their subscription to the wapo, where can we get news from trusted sources? Downtown Nasty Women Social Group has created “Trusted Sources” list. Here’s their recommended list and please consider subscribing to them:
Updated: Trusted Sources: For Fact-Based Journalism
Many of us have canceled our subscription to WaPo after its owner, billionaire Jeff Bezos, refused to allow the paper to endorse Kamala Harris for President. Where to turn? Read on for ideas.

So last night my youngest casually drops that they were encouraged by a prof to submit their paper on the advent of Chinese print culture to a graduate symposium, and it was accepted. They’re still an undergraduate. 1/2

ABC, NBC & CBS dedicated about 16 minutes of airtime last night to the California wildfires without once mentioning climate change.

Since the news failed do it's job, here's a short summary of the role of climate change and wildfire risk:

There is absolutely no excuse for me, a movie junkie, having not connected these dots before.
Remember on this day that, canonically, George Bailey’s re-discovery of the value of his life takes place at the same time as the failed hit attempt on Vito Corleone.
