Thanks! This is from Rock Creek Park, near my house. Here's another, from fall:

Oh yikes!! Good luck - the colors are nice!

I've always made chunky weight socks. My current set is double stranded worsted weight. I've just passed the heel and should finish the first sock today.

We met this little critter yesterday. She's only six weeks old or so, based on size. This is late for a litter of rabbits in Maryland, they don't have much time to grow before the fall sets in, but she's lovely. Hopefully we'll keep seeing her for a while.

I found this guy in a field in Maryland - I think it's a hummingbird hawkmoth caterpillar (I've seen the adults in the area)

We've got a rapid warm-up after a freeze, and the lake has a beautiful layer of fog lying on top of it. I caught a flock of geese landing in the mist. 🪶

These two were free-hand. Midday lighting is often garish and overwhelming, but it's ideal for macro photography. I don't have a dedicated macro lens; I just upgraded to a mirrorless Nikon, so I'm waiting on getting more lenses.

I do have a bunch more close-up-to-macro shots that I didn't use a tripod on that have turned out pretty well, though. Here's a close-up of a clover; I took this with a point-and-shoot Canon (my usual is a Nikon DSLR).

I need a lot more experience on low-light images; they're hard. Here's an example from a still-life I set up to test stacking images (the stacked image is 15 total images with differing focal points). Look at the rear-most petal to see the difference.

Here's a wood thrush for Thrush Thursday. I found this little guy on a cold February day... #birds

Birds in flight are tough - nice shots! Here are some mergansers I captured a few years back:
