im birdsitting, so it was looking in his beady little eyes and knowing he's brimful of thoughts and memories and love even tho he's basically a tennis ball come to life
a yellow and green budgie on a plastic perch in a large bird cage, which has its door open. the budgie has a yellow head with freckle-like dots on his cheeks, a fluffy green tummy and green, yellow and black wing and tail feathers in a speckly sort of pattern. he's side on to the camera and has one beady eye on the photographer. the picture is cropped quite close but a wooden perch, some dangling bell balls and a feeding dish full of budgie food are also visible in the cage. underneath the cage is a grey blanket with a repeating diamond pattern, and a bit blurry in the background sit a plush flamingo and plush shark on a shelf.

i have this little guy staying with me. he was my granny's, now my dad's and my dad is away for 3 weeks. currently im having lunch and coffee in with him (he has my bedroom and the 🐶😺s are locked out) and he's squeaking at me when i stop playing the "bite my finger" game
a budgie on a swing perch in a cage. he's mostly green with a yellow head and little black freckle-like spots on his bib area. he's about the size of and kinda shaped like a lime. his head is turned to the left of the image which means he has his beady eye on the photographer, maybe wondering what they're doing. there's a wee bell toy behind him in his cage, and on the wall behind the cage is a large framed print of "dreams of a fisherman's wife" though because it's quite a cropped image you can only see a little hand and tentacle.

a still blue loch with hills on the far shore, the two in the foreground almost meeting in the middle. low white clouds roll across the hilltops. the sky is grey, the hills look blue. it looks uncannily like Bee's picture in the previous post.

this dog is a walking dopamine machine
an impossibly cute shetland sheepdog sits on a pink couch with his front paws outstretched. he is highly fluffy, brown-eyed, predominantly black with a white chest and paws, and has striking coppery markings around his face. he is looking at the camera with a steely gaze undermined somewhat by his little pink tongue sticking out, licking his own nose. there's a desk chair behind him and a fireplace with various colourful ornaments on the mantle. the same shetland sheepdog lying on his back on a different part of the same pink couch, nestled into three green cushions of different textures. he is showing his extremely fluffy white chest and tummy, and his back paws are sticking up into the air. his face is completely hidden by fluff and he honestly looks like a pile of raw wool with two little legs.

a shetland sheepdog on a pink sofa. a freckled arm is reaching into shot to pat his little head, which is turned towards the arm. he has a long snout and is extremely fluffy, with black, white and tan coloured fur. one of his little paws is visible and it looks like he's stepping towards the person petting him. this person's knee in tartan pajamas is also visible on the sofa. in the background is a living room with furniture such as a desk, fireplace and bookcase and there are colourful trinkets on most surfaces.

i dont normally do what posts tell me to but its been a rly long time since i drew a bird. this is sposed to be the rook in my garden who (istg) sometimes miaows
a scribbly digital drawing of a rook. his body is scribbled in with black in the approximate direction of his feathers, wings etc and his face and beak are coloured more thickly in grey. he has roughly drawn feathers at the top of his legs that give a pantaloon effect, and his beak is long, thickish and curved with a pointy tip. his legs are stickish and his feet are just three lines each for long toes. he's drawn in three quarter profile looking to the right and his tail goes out of frame. there's a spot of light in his eye and he looks, i hope, a little thoughtful.

i got distracted by a lot of things & never mentioned but a couple of weeks ago i saw (1) an osprey, (2) a little egret washing itself, (3) a lapwing eating bugs on a bank, (4) four mandarin ducks doing mandarin duck things such as moulting and (5) a grey heron, all in one place

an end terrace house on a street across from a patch of trampled grass. it has square hedges in front, some bins and scrap wood in the driveway, and most importantly, a small white dog in the front window, peeking over the sill so only the top of his head, the suggestion of ears and little round black eyes are visible. a zoomed in shot of the same house as the first picture. the edges of the hedges out front are visible, and in the window we see a spiral ornament, a gaudy round mirror on the back wall, and again most importantly, a ridiculous little white dog peeking just barely over the sill so all you can see is a semi circle head, two round flumpy ears that look like fluffy earmuffs, and three black circles for its eyes and nose. it could easily be a doll or a statue but i assure you it's real.

walked along a route that must have taken a lot of the storm. we met an xl bully pup named satan and rosa had a lovely time

a 5' rainbow pastel Christmas tree with various shapes, colours and textures of baubles, and little fairy lights. It's in a slightly cluttered spot in front of a dark brown upright piano, which has a tabby cat perched on it looking into the camera. He has little white feet. There's a pile of plushies on an armchair behind the tree including a human sized frog and Ikea's Djungelskog bear. On top of the piano there are a couple of framed pictures and a mannequin crotch, and a vintage poster for Attack of the 50 Foot Woman hangs on the wall.
