It happened… Vagabond overtook Daggerheart last night. It’s surreal to see this

After sitting around waiting for 5 days, I have my PayPal account back. I'm officially Unfucked

Got to see something I worked on on sale in store for the first time today. Being able to show family I'm holidaying with that my #ttrpg work actually exists is nice.

It was also nice to see local game stores actually stocking games other than D&D and Pathfinder.

Pretty sure PayPal have just forcibly evicted me from the industry and my only source of income. How's your Monday going?

I have some variably-scary adventures that you can get on Itch for less money than usual (50% off) for the next few days!

See, the trick is that "the GM exists for the players' amusement, whose job is to ruin their plans for fun" and "the GM rules like a king, and the players exist to be their playthings" is that these SEEM like opposite maladaptive approaches to play, but they both result in the GM doing all the work.

Recently ran the first playtest of my system, CAPE. It was a great time, but I have a lot to change.

For starters, the mechanic that structure the combat system is Not Great™ (the fix should be relatively painless though)

Hoping to start talking more about it come the new year!

silly that positioning yourself as better-than or fixing dnd is still an effective way of selling your game.

id really like to move past the mechanical discussion of dnd and get to the critique of its owner, because one is subjective and the other is a series of abuses.

Writing the grosses and most horrible adventure I've ever put to paper.

It's a trip to the circus.

This whole thing has been grassroots from day 1, and there's a Land of the Blind 3PP Creation that is so good, I had to implement it officially. Not only that, it made me want to create a path for aspiring 3PP to get their stuff in a book. I would have killed for this when I was doing D&D 3PP.

Writing adventures has become much harder.

I write "Area 1a," and Nicholas Hoult is beamed into my skull like a flashbang.

Recently started playing this sad old man for @artificialjealousy.bsky.social's first long-term campaign: Marco is an old soldier with a long history and a LOT of time on the road.

AJ did art of the whole party and they all came out super well.

Across the Open Threshold is an insane, rollercoaster of an adventure. It's both ridiculous and relentlessly depressing.

It's very much a personal love letter to my love of existential and cosmic horror.

Here are a few of the things you can encounter in it!

Got an adventure releasing pretty soon, another one I've been sat on for over a year that's finally entering post-production, and a new collaborative project I just started with some new writers.

Should hopefully be a prolific next 6 months or so!

I thought the DMsGuild was struggling on sales, but wanted to test the waters for myself to see how viable 2024 was for 3PP over there so I ported my Alchemist class.

Over 24,000 followers, top newsletter placement, the Guild’s marketing, IG, YT, FB, Patreon, and Bsky pushes, I’ve sold 14 copies.

From a team of 25 accomplished authors. 36 five-room "dungeons" (very few literal dungeons).

I’ve only been watching TTRPG news maybe once or twice a week, so I’m kinda getting an outside perspective for the first time in a while. One of the things sticking out is Daggerheart’s success being used to indicate WotC’s death. A healthy competitor isn’t a death sentence, it’s just a threat.
