True, I would’ve called him up before he turned 21 so he would’ve had some time to acclimate and the team would’ve have some data to decide on the optimal lineup down the stretch

It may or it may not. You won’t know unless you try. What we do know, is that they keep running out middle infielders at the bottom of their order that aren’t hitting. And, if the plan is for him to make the opening day roster then there is no cost.

lulz can you image letting your most prized employee who could obviously contribute to your MLB team throw 1800 pitches in the minors (750 of which are over 97 MPH).

You’re telling everyone in your organization we aren’t trying to win baseball games and we just want to pay you less. Would not be surprised at all if the system wide poor morale actually costs the organization (in performance metric equivalent) more than it saves them.

Yeah I mean if my employer didn’t give me a promotion I clearly deserved in an obvious attempt to not have to pay me as much and not allow me to leave for a whole extra year in the future, I’d have a hard time focusing since performance obviously didn’t matter.

And the Orioles called up their guys on two entirely different days. You see…because one was ready on one day and the other was ready on a different day and so no manipulation occurred.
