3/4 Digitising RIA MS 24 B 1 reunites this Táin text with the Seosamh Ó Longáin version on ISOS, offering new insight into the Ó Longáin scribal tradition and early Irish storytelling.

The manuscript is of Connacht provenance and from the names of places mentioned, likely written in Co. Roscommon.

Begins with the invasions of Ireland after the Flood, drawing on Cín Droma Sneachta and Lebor na hUidre.
Ends with the colophon: “Iarna sgriobhadh le Ioseph Ó Longáin, san mbliadhain 1850. Críoch.”

Written in 1844 by Éamonn Ó Mathghamhna.
Includes references to Leabhar Droma Sneachta, the history of Ireland’s invasions & texts such as Trecheng Breth Féne & the tale of Michael the Archangel at Mount Gargan.
