We’re seeing a positive movement to either ban, limit or require #recycling of single-use plastic and/or styrofoam packaging in California, Oregon and Washington 👏👏👏
This is important because styrofoam fragments, and via our river systems, they make their way into the ocean.

325 years ago tonight (9 p.m. Jan. 26, 1700) a M~9 Cascadia subduction earthquake rocked the west coast from #VancouverIsland to northern California. The Juan de Fuca Plate slipped up to 20 m, causing a large tsunami, strong shaking and landslides

I have been dreaming of seeing the Bristlecone Pines again since June… what an extraordinary adaptation. So much to nerd on up there, I was overwhelmed!

NWS has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Malibu and the PCH within and near the #PalisadesFire and #FranklinFire burn areas. Intense convective downpours will likely generate debris flows and/or flash flooding in some portions of the burn area shortly. #CAwx
