To wrap up this series - 2025 was a fairly typical year for #earthquakes in Canada (the M7 was an ~decadal event). More than 5000 were recorded from coast to coast to coast, ~75% of those occurred on/near plate tectonic boundaries in western #Canada.

Canada's largest earthquake of 2025? M7 in southwest Yukon on Dec. 6th (the largest in #Canada since 2012):

No damage/impacts due to the remote location, but felt across southern Yukon and southeast Alaska.

Either #Saskatchewan or #Manitoba is the place to be. No earthquakes were located within this elliptical area during 2025 - this is always one of the most seismically quiet parts of the country.

In a time span of less than 3 weeks (Feb. 13 to March 5 2025), five #earthquakes (M2.5-4.6) were felt in Victoria, BC. Several of these were felt across much of SW BC. Some were shallow, some were deep (~60 km) and all were on different faults!
