I’ve started a discussion group for Michael Friedman’s reconsidering logical positivism and I thought I’d post here in case anybody here was interested in joining. It should be pretty laid back so I encourage people to stop by even if they can’t do the reading.

@margaret.bsky.social do you have any of your research notes from when you did a podcast episode on nihilism. I'd be interested if you've held onto a list of sources

I wanted to use the indexed functor trick to do mutual recursion via recursion schemes but I thought it might get awkward, but it actually Just Worked™️. I wonder if there is some category theory explanation for why this works…

There are lots of things I care deeply about that I never or rarely post about. You can't tell what matters to ppl by what's online, like you can't tell what's real by what's online. It's not just what you say but how you say it. Liberation isn't just when ppl talk more but say little of substance.

Hegel on the nature of dialectics,

"In essence, it is nothing more than the formalized, systematically trained spirit of contradiction that we all have inside us – a gift that proves its worth in distinguishing between truth and falsehood."

Much of the justification for creating the International Criminal Court was the fact that Nazi Germany committed genocide.

That Germany has now said it will defy the court to continue committing genocide shows that Nazi Germany is still alive and well.
