Hi #portfolioday! I'm a freelance cartoonist in the SF Bay Area and I make comics about my life, as well as #kidlitart. I would love to draw FOR YOU! Looking for covers, early reader GNs, middle grade illos, and an agent. My work is cartoony and fun. dhoover.art for contact info and more! 🖖
Ok, time to finish the last 20 minutes of Night of the Comet. So far, I'm kinda underwhelmed, but I could spend a lot of time discussing why, so, I guess it's successful in creating discussion. That's something.

The feature to make movie review comics is increasing, despite my having committed myself to many projects on here, most of which remain incomplete.

The Calaveras Fault system will continue the shaking until morale improves. Or until we get our act together up here. The Earth is telling us it's tired of our nonsense.

Re: can't start a comic, I figured it out. It's not even needing to record ideas, which I USUALLY (but not consistently) do. It's fear. Fear it'll suck, fear no one will read it, or find it funny, or maybe it isn't funny at all but it's also not relatable...it's just that little fear guy.

Boy, this movie keeps going. The transition commercial breaks don't help.

Robert Beltan's acting apparently didn't improve much between 1984 and Voyager.
He also took his gloves off twice in one scene.

The female lead being totally ok with a bunch of random clothes on the ground, extremely empty streets, and a very red sky filter is peak 80s.

Ok, about to watch this. Any movie that has 80s teens played by 30 year olds is going to be good.
This Christmas, join Dumpster Raccoon as it celebrates the reason for the season: the return of the COMET that killed the dinosaurs and has turned all the adults into ZOMBIES, leaving the VALLEY GIRLS to inherit the earth!

AT LAST....we present NIGHT OF THE COMET!!!! revuecinema.ca/films/night-...

Justin T. Lee, the animator, quickly followed it up with an equally brilliant Voyager animation. He captured the Filmation TAS style perfectly! /2

I've never posted this delightful Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Animated Series video before because I kind of assume everybody has already seen it. But that's probably not true and it's my duty to make sure that everyone has! /1

Timeline refresh: I made fresh guacamole. I don't have peppers on hand, so it's lacking that nice spice kick, but it's pretty good otherwise. 🥑🍋‍🟩🌶️

DanDaDan is a wild, wild ride.
I'm trying to decide if I like Seiko or Turbo Granny more, and I don't think I can choose.
Season 3 is going to be weird.

I have so many boring adult comic ideas and when I sit down to make them my brain turns to mush. Halp

Snuck in two miles before sunset. 50s is slightly cooler than I prefer to start run, but it's nice once you get going.

Yes, ok, look, amazon is bad AND they also are selling the anthology we kickstarted and self published! I drew two comics in it! If it ends up on bookshop dot org, I will also link there. a.co/d/58Q8ree

After a bird flu outbreak tore through Midwestern barns, killing millions of chickens and spiking egg prices, the federal government didn’t investigate if the virus was airborne.

So ProPublica did.

Absolutely terrifying reporting from @natlash.bsky.social:

What the U.S. Government Is Dismissing That Could Seed a Bird Flu Pandemic
Egg producers suspect bird flu is traveling through the air. After a disastrous Midwestern outbreak early this year, we tested that theory and found that where the wind blew, the virus followed. Vacci...
