And even if it was shot on a phone, so what? Sean Baker shot his feature debut on an iPhone, and he's an Oscar/Palme d'Or winner now. There's a really cool shot in MONKEY MAN achieved using a phone. If it works, it works.

I have so many issues with that book, but also I would not be the person I am today if I'd never read it. That person being "weird Gothic horror nerd with a habit of rewriting stories that disappoint her somehow."

Would highly recommend it whether you're a long-time Holmesian or new to the stories. The production is high-quality, and Bonneville's narration brings all the characters to life with vivid emotion and a variety of accents. It's genuinely such a delight to listen to. #podcast #literature 3/3

Something that's helped me de-stress recently is a podcast by Noiser called SHERLOCK HOLMES SHORT STORIES. It features the actor Hugh Bonneville performing unabridged dramatic readings of various Holmes stories, complete with music cues and sound effects. 2/3

Honorable mention goes to Actually Romantic, the song that convinced me this woman is a fundamentally bad person because holy shit how is THAT her response to Sympathy is a Knife

It's genuinely so difficult to choose, but I have to go with Wish List. The tradwife undertones of that song are just vile, and there's no non-creepy way to interpret the line "got the whole block looking like you."
