It'd mostly be an expansion on the points in my first response. Milbank has been telling these narratives for decades, but hasn't responded to the very compelling counter-arguments from folks like Stout and Dumler-Winckler. His liberalism is a thin, strawmanned concept.

The narrative can't withstand certain counter-arguments. E.g. Jeff Stout's *Democracy and Tradition* and Emily Dumler-Winckler's *Modern Virtue*.

Many appealing elements here, friend. But the totalizing, flat-ironed description of "liberalism" is frustrating at best. So much more complexity to the historical and conceptual history of modernity that is conveniently elided from the postliberal narrative.
