I think it will be a gradual process.

EVs will progressively become more efficient, including better electric (regen) braking as batteries and motors improve, and less reliance on mechanical braking.

Essentially it's already there in any high-powered AWD EV.

Just a question of how much you're prepared to pay for a 15C battery pack 😁

Gen 4 Formula E cars will be AWD and will only use electric braking during races (they will have disc brakes for backup).

Overall efficiency ~ 96-97%

A transition issue.

China now on track to be first major industrial economy with low emission low cost energy and near-zero dependence on external energy supplies by 2040.
