Tales of Berseria getting a remaster was not on my bingo card list.

I suspect the biggest motivation to pick this one is going to stem from quality-of-life improvements, as visually it matches my experience with the original Steam/PC release.

I finished Orphen and the last boss' attack patterns are RNG-based, so the battle can range from impossibly tedious, to rather easy for no apparent reason.

I think it might be my top King's Field-like experience, minus the lack of soundtrack. The games shine the most when you have bespoke tunes for each area, be it KF or Evergrace.
And, same as you, I haven't tried Abyss yet.

In the end, all of it was worth it, just to see Granny's smile again.

I think MGS2 matches MGS1 pretty well, with the futuristic green/blue color palette, so that makes me scratch my head even more.

It's consistent and nice!
