Thank you! I have more like this coming. I just figured out what to do with those waste pieces at the end of the bowl blanks!

I am using walnut oil. The bowls I made 2 and 3 years ago are still as bright as before. I will try boiled linseed oil on some. I am also going to boil cones from Red Alder trees and then put the hot cones onto some bowls see if it will add some color. It works on silk and cotton.

I live in Washington State. There are some good plants for making cords. The inner bark of Cedar Fireweed stems, Stinging nettles stems. Dry the nettles and wear leather gloves when starting. Once the sting is gone the chord is smooth and silky.

I think it is some dessert wood. I have one more piece with the bark partly on. I can get a photo of that later today.

Those look great!
What kind of finish did you use? The Black Locust I get is yellow.
It looks like Osage Orange, but less orange and more yellow.
I am not a tree ID expert either. Someone else told me it was Black Locust.

It does not look like the black locust I have. This piece traveled from Arizona to Washington. I am pretty sure it is not.

I love it! I saw Grisman play there maybe 30 years ago. It was the best sound quality I have ever experienced. Every note was sharp and clear. It was such an amazing experience.

I agree. And it angered me when I saw Mr. Greene removed . At the same time, Democrats have no guts, and allow republicans to get away with bad behavior. I would like to see more speaking out in this way from Democrats. And when they get back in power, I want Democrats to punish too.

It is hard to pick out Neil when he had a haircut and a shave! Thanks for sharing.

Nykelharpa. When I lived in Norway it was pronounced more like Nøkelharp. The musicians would march from the train into the dance hall. Dancers would pair up and follow. The tune would change and the dancers would circle around the players while the dancers danced. The Good old days!
