anti-copyright sentiment looks good on paper until you start breaking down the actual issues behind its erosion like that thread did. i find it antithetical to actual leftist values, since copyright erosion harms the indies more than it does bigger names.

right. i think that about a lot of things that massively consume power. most of it is integral in peoples day to day lives though, wheras genai isn't. ai related tech that tries to reduce its carbon footprint is already better imo but theres still a long way to go.
