Remember, reading about nature, climate, environmental justice, and traditional ecological knowledge is a meaningful form of 🌈climate action✨, especially when you share what you’ve learned with others

Something I really *love* is friends and family telling me that I should keep up the work because it’s important, or that I should consider a degree in environmental law because I’m “smart and could make a difference”, and yet they voted for Trump…

It makes me want to vomit

New on The Wild Life and in my efforts to write more creatively to process all the absurdity taking place | The Great Wanting and The Last Tree. The reviews are in: “this is a bad story. Why aren’t there pictures?” - My 8 year old. thewildlife.blog/2025/02/27/t...
The Last Tree
There once was a forest, and in it, the world was whole. The trees stretched tall, as trees do, and their roots tangled deep, as roots must. The wind, which has been around much longer than anyone,…

To every SciCommer, educator, and scientist striving to spread hope, raise awareness, inspire action, and change minds—even if you can’t change the minds of those closest to you—I see you. Your work matters. You are making a difference.

Do I believe there is hope for us? Absolutely.

Not a passive hope that waits for rescue, but an active, living hope—a hope you build with your hands, your voice, your choices. As long as you care, as long as you act, as long as you refuse to let despair win, hope is alive.

Looking to connect with people who love science, nature, wildlife, sustainability, humankind, finding solutions and common ground, & all kinds of geekery

And also people who are skeptical about climate change (let’s chat!) or have even the most causal interest in animals of all kinds

Just people 😊

I don’t just want people to learn about nature; I want them to feel it in their bones, to look at the world with fresh eyes, and to care enough to protect it, for its own sake, and the sake of future generations.

Hard question to ask (harder to answer), but I’m curious on peoples thoughts:

In the midst of mass biodiversity decline, climate change, loss of habitats, and many populations being the lowest they’ve been on record, how can we truly define “sustainable take”?

Obv huge caveats
