I just think this style of sculpture should never depict any real people. Case in point: Scary Lucille Ball. They did replace her with a vastly improved (but still slightly creepy) statue later, but the odds these go wrong are too high

So, after commenting I googled more pictures of the Lindley clock tower, and found these floral details that were blurry in the OP's images, which are vaguely art nouveau.

The NYT is a rag, but the bright spot of their coverage of Trump's second go-round is the photo editors publishing pictures like this one. (Instead of finding the most flattering picture imaginable and calling it unbiased reporting).

It was the weirdest! Like my eyebrows are bushy, but not full on creatures!
