My favorite rat cozies are from https://www.hudsonshammoks.com though - nice thick double-stitched fleece and heavy grommets for attachment that hold up through lots of washings. This one’s a double, but I have triples and singles and a bonding pouch from them too.

I get a lot of rat cage stuff from Temu and the Dollar Tree - this triple hammock was a cheap Temu find. Not sure how well it’ll hold up in the washer tbh, unlike the good ones I buy from local makers.

Cleaning day! This is the emptiest the cage ever gets - all the dirty hammocks are piled up on top and the rats are grumpy about it.

As nice as it’s been to do a mindless single-color design on Aida I’m starting to really miss color changes and evenweave. I feel like I’ll never finish this! 🪡🧶

Just a sprain, apparently. Poor baby though! He’s got a few days of pain meds and is currently passed out recovering from the car ride and vet trip. Even asleep he’s still got the paw he hurt curled over. :(

Sorry I keep spamming you this morning - as an example of the above here’s my latest batch of rat girl treats, none of which was more than a couple of bucks. The puffed quinoa hearts and rice cakes are organic with rat-safe veggies and fruits in them and can be broken up into several treats each.

That’s Portia! I adopted her from a coworker whose son went off to college and left her - she’d been a solo rat for her whole life. I got her a bigger cage and some friends and she’s super outgoing now.

See, I just came out here for the first time today and three of the four instantly appeared. Juliet is in that strawberry patterned hammock and showed up the second she heard me say good morning to the others.

And here’s the first picture I’ve been able to get of all the rats in one place and visible. The size difference between the Siamese, who’s a retired breeder after two litters, and the others is ludicrous.

The rat girls are all getting along well - the two rescues are a little sneezy so they’re getting a course of doxycycline and a vet visit (though the vet is booked until September, ffs). Here’s all of them jammed into one hammock together.
