If you push yourself to your limits and burn out for a company, you are trading years of your future productivity for minor gains in the present.

Glad to finally get numbers on what I've been saying for a while. Too much of the current indie game landscape is maintained by a churn of first-time studios throwing all their resources at unsustainable, overambitious development (often at the behest of publishers) and facing burnout or bankruptcy
Chris Zukowski published this chart in one of his recent blogs. It helped me really conceptualize how hard games are to get done. Our current model is small games, with deep gameplay loops -- and whacky mechanics. Make smaller games and MORE GAMES DEVS!
