What's actually being "handed out" is just $2 per student in the Governor’s budget. Two dollars doesn’t cover increasing costs, including a 3.25% increase in PERS coming this summer. And it probably also means little or no increases for Nevada educators.

While the check size is comical, the consequences are not. Two dollars won’t keep up with inflation or a 3.5% PERS increase expected in July. $2 won’t cover basic classroom supplies. From pencils and crayons to notebooks and glue sticks, this budget falls short. #PassThePlan
