(He/Him) YYC's leading expert on Albertan geographic features named after war criminals. Pleasantly surprised by the marked lack of overt fascism on bluesky when compared with the other site.
Unsurprisingly, I have thoughts on this. While I'm sure the guy is well meaning, there are more than enough mountains named for europeans who haven't been within 1000km of the Rockies.

Alberta's Measles cases now outnumber the United States' entire case count. This is a milestone we did not need to reach. Immediate action must be taken to reduce spread and ensure immunization and information is accessible to all Albertans.

Alberta, a province with a population of 5 million, has more cases of measles than the United States, which has 340 million.

This is embarrassing. The AB gvt’s need to pick quixotic battles with Ottawa and beat up on trans kids has caused it to ignore the province’s real public heath needs.

Alberta as we know it today simply would not exist without the millions of immigrants and refugees who built it, who loved it, and who were proud to call it home - including my grandparents and my mum. This bitter xenophobia is as unAlbertan as it’s possible to be. I’m ashamed. I’m disgusted.

As a child of an immigrant, this xenophobic trash has no place in Alberta.

Smith is pandering to the worst elements of our society. Her absence from the national discourse would be a gift.

Give the government’s approach to the COVID vaccine, this should surprise absolutely no one. They certainly seem more beholden to interest groups than evidence based policy.

Math is hard in politics, as has been observed.
Here, I think, is where we run into trouble with the parties using different methods for calculating their fiscal projections -- it's basically apples to oranges.

There might still be a gap here if we were comparing apples to apples, but I'm not sure it'd be this wide.
