Unapologetic nerd construct. Terms and conditions apply. (usually he/him)
I wonder if there are devs now who are building games specifically optimized for the Steam Deck. Like, I wonder how far they can go with that target, like they already do with the Switch.

My whole life, advocating war has been fed to me as “the adult position,” akin to drinking your coffee black or reading the business section of the newspaper. Let’s be very clear — war is the childish nonsense of impulsive destructive idiots playing baby-brained video games with real human lives.

New pet peeve: when people post gift unwrapping videos and they show two minutes of anticipation for engagement reasons. Also why are people so damn slow with ripping off wrapping paper?

There’s a certain type who feels encouraged to hear they’re not alone, that most are on their side, and therefore doing good things like participating in democracy is worth it. And they think other people also think this way.

What is Final Fantasy even about?
Easy. A sad little boy encounters The Most Interesting Girl in the World and they band together with a coincidentally thematic found family on the way to killing god.

There should be intimate concerts using recliner, theater, seating, and the performer just placed chill tunes the whole time

Friends, when you listen to Pachelbel’s Canon in D, what occasion do you think of?
* School graduation ceremonies
* Christmas for some reason
* Sad gay anime Apocalypse

Internet, is there someone out there who makes something look like clamshell iBooks from the 90s? Maybe a manufactured shell for a Raspberry Pi, or STLs, or whatever? I would love to have that.

Before even going into 2025, I already knew which games would make my year and I was right.
Curiously, I don’t feel the same about next year. There’s a handful of interesting ones, but nothing I absolutely MUST play. It might actually be a year to get through my backlog.

The silver lining is that nothing important was announced. Literally a weird old man yelling.

I trust industry folks who play a wide variety of games, and understand what it takes to make them, to know what makes a good one. Better than random dudes who play like one game and get their opinions from twitch streamers.

The other thing wonderful about watching The Game Awards live is getting to take part in mass cultural moments again, but in a non-traumatic way.

Well, there you go. Shocking absolutely no one, actual Game of the Year #expedition33 wins The Game Awards’ Game of the Year.
A great achievement, not in just scale or breadth of content or sales numbers, but in showcasing what it means to say that video games are an art form.

I don't know how secure 2-factor authentication can be if I still have to say the numbers out loud in order to type it in on another screen.

We never wanted to grow up. We wanted to be respected and treated seriously, and loved for who we are. It’s sad that so many of us still don’t have that, but are left with all the baggage that comes with it.

Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?

The absolute most hilarious thing is how Google Gemini ads feature people asking questions that could be better answered by a human. “What present should I buy for my wife?” Talk to your fucking wife too psycho.
