Maybe, for you, the gift will not be the art itself. Maybe the gift will be getting to experience how much someone else loves that art.

And as long as I’m here? I’ll keep being outspoken about that because I don’t like the way I’ve seen a lot of my old communities just sorta let that behavior slide.

I’m here to do MY thing. You are free to like it, you are free to hang out and vibe, but I am not for you.

I think the “open accessibility” model of modern social media has perhaps been a contributing factor some people forgetting (or never learning) that strangers online are mostly just there to do their own thing and are not, in fact, blank slate entertainment vending machines for the public at large.

I’ve had people slide up to me for kink stuff, kin stuff, social stuff, and a whole host of other assumptions they made about me and wanted to be true so they could get an interaction they desired out of me and it was always and without exception TREMENDOUSLY weird and uncomfortable!!
