Never forget that the only country in NATO history which triggered NATO article 5 is USA after a bunch of Arab terrorists took down some buildings in New York.

Now when Europe is in existential threat by former Soviets, the USA is throwing us bones and expecting gratitude.

EU need to step up.

Russia’s only hope for real change is to lose its war against Ukraine.
Russia’s Only Hope for Real Change Lies in Losing the War in Ukraine
Meaningful change in Russia is unlikely without defeat. Lessons from Germany show how accountability and reform follow war.

You may wish to dismiss them as twitter trolls. But fact of the matter is that rightwing influencers now dominate political social media. From Tim Pool to Tucker Carlson to Nick Fuentes. Even gaming streamers like Asmongold amplify them.
It seems that “all that remains” of his career is being a Twitter troll

Slovakia’s prosecutor has ruled that the 2023 transfer of MiG‑29 jets and air defense systems to Ukraine was not a crime. The move, made under former PM Eduard Heger, faced legal challenge from the current pro-Russian government of Robert Fico. Politico reports the case is now closed.

Trump said the U.S. is no longer spending money on Ukraine, but earning from it, saying NATO allies are now footing the bill for weapons sent to Kyiv.

It's long overdue that the term "Eurasianism" is reclaimed by those who deserve the term. "Eurasian Studies" is a field in which you study the histories, politics, cultures, and languages of the peoples of Central Asia. This is a great book to start that journey.

It's worth remembering that the last British and American citizens who did what people like Graham Philips and Christopher Helali did, were hanged in 1946.

The American communist Christopher Helali, who moved to Russia to work as a war and regime propagandist, has been especially belligerent on social media recently. I guess the consequences of his decisions are dawning on him.

Ireland already committed to buying jets from a Nato country. Probably Swedish Gripen or the French Rafale. I doubt the Irish will buy American.
November 10, 2025 at 7:05 PM
I am sure Ireland can set up its own defense industry. It may take them a decade or two. But with all that amazon and facebook tax haven money, I am sure they can find enough to make those investments. Who knows what the Irish version of the Gripen will be a few decades down the road.

It is great that Sweden joined NATO. But we also lost a lot. Sweden's active neutrality was a great benefit to Europe. From supporting Algerian independence, opposing the Vietnam war, to being the Nr.1 Western enemy of apartheid South Africa... it will be a huge task for Ireland to fill these shoes.
Sweden neutrality bore The Gripen, and still joined NATO after all, providing much needed strength and expertise in the alliance

What will that redefined Irish policy bring to the table ?
I think the Irish want to redefine who they are in foreign policy terms in Europe. Adopt a more active neutrality, like Sweden used to have. But since they are new to this, they seem to stumble over their own good intentions as they take their first baby steps into a more involved foreign policy.

It's funny how many of our political conversations in Europe now focus on defence. Unthinkable, 5 years ago.
November 10, 2025 at 6:36 PM
Yes. And the Irish are actually working on that. It will probably take them until 2030, but it is good that the Irish will soon be doing their own defence.
If you want to be like Sweden used to be, you need to be able to defend your own territory and airspace. Ireland is a joke in that sense, totally dependent on the UK for its security.

Of all the European far-left political movements and parties, Spain has the most deranged and extreme. The people who came out of the splintered Podemos movement. A Stalin worshipping lunatic asylum. And the current Spanish government is in coalition with and has to pander to some of them.
why does Spain not care about Ukraine

I love how people who have never set foot in Ukraine once in their life feel so confident opining on it. Also. WTF is up with Ireland? If it's not blatant antisemitism one day it's russia cocksucking on another.

Cultures mix. Happens all the time. But there is a difference between two things fusing together, and something being ripped from the cold dead hands of a conquered people. When Russians post their "traditional attire" it often looks like a stolen goods desk.

There is something really obscene about all this. Some Muscovite trollop wearing a Circassian Papakha (hat), wielding a Chechen Shashka (sword), rapped in a Polish Zupan (coat), while calling herself a "Mongol" for a bunch of uncultured Westerners too dim witted to see through this mess.
