And despite my deep, undying love for the Go-Betweens' Robert Forster, I don't like his cover of it either; his vocal delivery is too drily ironic for the song's heart-on-sleeve lyrics.

They were my first ever concert (March 1986). I had forgotten just how relentless, in the best possible sense, their live shows were. Over the moon about this release.
