For some reason, my mind connected this image to the opening scene from "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" as the animation pans through the interior structure of the snowflake on which the setting takes place.

This macro shot of foliage growing inside of a broken twig has a fantasy-esque feel in the scale and perspective of small landscapes. In my mind, I see a full sized tree being reclaimed by nature emerging from its center.

A small sprig keeps the water droplet in place thanks to its tiny fibers on the leaf, which trap air bubbles between the droplet and the surface.

One of the things I appreciate about photography is how it pushes me to explore new perspectives, often leading to moments of unexpected beauty. A kneeling glance at this stone, jutting out higher than the others, was one of those subtle yet surprisingly stunning instances.

First time I’ve reshared this since taking it 2 years ago - not a huge fan of sharing old work though there’ll be a few on here likely not seen this image. Seems appropriate for the current conditions in the UK which makes a nice change 😀
