Author of Shagduk and Ursula of Ulm (De re dordica, Books One & Two) from Pilum Press. Music freak, aesthete, and '70s aficionado.
The topic is fiction...fascinating. Thanks to AI, we're entering a new linguistic phase of Beige World which had its genesis in '70s suburban architecture.

Essentially just traded a Clark Ashton Smith book for this bad boy.

The library isn't your parents. We supply the books. You decide which ones you and your kids want to read. P.S. There is nudity in In the Night Kitchen? I missed it the first time around. This five-year-old didn't notice or care. Neither did my parents. www.reuters.com/world/us-sup...

The justices let stand a lower court's decision allowing the removal of books including ones dealing with themes of race and LGBT identity, from its public library system.

Here's your chance to stick it to Amazon by getting a $35 book for cheap. P.S. I probably make very little from this, but I'm not here to get rich. Might be a good time to buy Books 1 and 2 and give them to someone you love for Christmas.

In my office working, chilling, and listening to Ravel. Or trying to. There's a skateboarder outside on the tennis court making ceaseless clacking sounds. Like lumber being tossed off the back of a truck.

An interesting early edition of Geoffrey Household's Rogue Male. From the Services Library of Chatto & Windus, 1941.

Android Auto: music activity fills whole screen, displays full song titles, album art doesn't disappear and reappear, displays track length and time remaining, improved sound quality via USB. Not as good as CDs, but this is acceptable.

Album cover vanishes when car is in motion, replaced with a generic Bluetooth symbol. I find it distracting when driving in the city or when stuck in stop-and-go traffic. Why does this happen?

Who tf is the guy in the photo? Why won't the system just use the proper album cover?

No CD player in my new car, so I was forced to switch to streaming. To address several shortcomings, I have fashioned a prototype phone holder for my car. It's the 21st century. We shouldn't have to live this way. Ask me anything. #ama P.S. Read Shagduk.

Is it just me, or is Google's "AI Overview" feature absolutely worthless? I'm not sure it has ever given me useful information.

Here's a person who gets my favorite song. The look on her face when the bass pedals come in. Recalls the scene in Shagduk when Jenny's sitting on the speaker cabinet.

It's that time of the year when people want to read spooky books. Look no further than Sausalito Library's well-stocked Horror & Tales of the Weird section. This is the stuff that influenced Stephen King.

In the early-'90s, I worked with a guy whose primary job was to format these all day. His cubicle was devoid of any personal touches, and he was surrounded by stacks of these.
