Librarian, wife, mom, geek. She/her. Executive function for at least 4 people at all times. Trying to be better than I was yesterday.
💙📚 Takes place prior to the events in Invasive. @chuckwendig.bsky.social plays upon my fears about computers taking over the world. It is interesting to see the early seeds of Wanderers on this book (and Invasive). Lower squick, just as many nightmares. Recommend!

💙📚Did @kevinhearne.bsky.social write an entire book so he could offhandedly drop in the legend of the creation of truck nutz? Uproarious humor, redemption arcs, adventure, and love cheese. And the phenomenal narration of Luke Daniels.

💙📚 Super high squick-factor on this one, but the story was so good that I kept reading it even while plagued by a recurring case of stress hives. I really loved how Hannah’s background informed her reactions and interactions. @chuckwendig.bsky.social, I hate you for formication nightmares. 🐜

💙📚 The only thing better than a book by @kevinhearne.bsky.social is that book read by Luke Daniels. This laugh-out-loud wild ride accompanied me & my family on a recent road trip. The 14-year-old was locked in immediately locked in, but even the 19-year-old was quickly captivated.

Needed a book to read for the end of my trip, and this ebook was immediately available from my library. The first “I hate you, @chuckwendig.bsky.social” moment came in the second chapter. I think I should not have picked this one while suffering from hives.

💙📚I am not sure where this recommendation came from, but I am very glad I came across it. I like my horror with a side of humor and The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins was a fun read. The story wrapped up neatly but I’d gladly spend more time in this world.

💙📚The third book in the series, Children of Memory is a meditation on what makes someone a sentient being. The corvids, Gothi and Gethli, are an impeccable embodiment of the benefits of neurodiversity. Definite echoes of why my partner and I make such a good combination.

💙📚Octopodes In Spaaaaace! The sequel to Children of Time does not disappoint. Again Tchaikovsky envelopes the reader in a completely alien way of thinking. Incredible world building. Also highly recommend this as an audiobook; I alternated listening and reading.

Hope Rides Again is the second book by Andrew Shaffer featuring Joe and Barack as amateur detectives. I think the premise is starting to stretch thin, but it was entertaining enough to keep me occupied for a few hours while sitting in the hospital. 💙📚

💙📚 yet another fantastic horror book from @chuckwendig.bsky.social. Less squick in this one than in some of his others, just as much fantastic storytelling. Complex characters, a hefty dose of humor (including laugh-out-loud moments), and a sprinkle of political spite. Highly recommend.

💙📚 I don’t usually post picture books, but I kept seeing this on a book truck at work when I was having one of those days. Cute story with a funny twist. I can verify that it is good for reading out loud. I bought it for my second cousin and read it appropriately eleventy-billion times this weekend.

I don’t buy a lot of books, preferring to store them at my local library. But I recently decided I needed to have @theferocity.bsky.social words live in my house with me. 💙📚

The snack I didn’t know that I have been looking for all my life: Albanese Peach Rings dipped in Tajín.

Albanese Gummy Bears dipped in Tajín are a close second.

I feel a little too seen by the books on the triage cart this morning….

The story picks up speed in the second novella of the trilogy. @bethrevis.bsky.social continues the highly entertaining tale of Ada Lamarr and her crush/adversary/straightman Rian White. Full speed, one goal. Or maybe two. Or three. Very much looking forward to the third installment in April. 📚💙

A colleague recommended this novella which was the perfect audiobook companion as I took light rail to and from a convention last week. I described it to my spouse as Stephanie Plum in Space, which isn’t entirely accurate but captures the vibes pretty well. Lighthearted, fast-paced, quirky. 📚💙

MPOW is hosting n upcoming author event featuring C. J. Box. Is not read any of his books, but my coworker helpfully put the first two of the Joe Pickett novels on hold for me. After confusion about why I had them(I call in lots of books for work reasons), I opted to give them a try. 📚💙 1/2

When my arachnophobic-spouse kept waxing poetic about a book featuring spiders as the main characters, I knew I had to read it. (Our taste in books has some overlap, but the Venn Diagram is definitely NOT a circle. This time we agree.) A sci-fi novel about terraforming other planets in a… 📚💙 1/2

Rest in Peace, Tom Robbins. So any of your words will live rent-free in my mind for the rest of my days. Thank you for shaping me in my younger days. 📚💙

Sweet, beautiful and wistful, Maurice Sendak’s final book is so much more than its slim profile might suggest. It’s currently out-of-print but check your local library. I predict this book will continue to haunt me in the very best way. And I just want to fall into the transcendent illustrations. 💙📚

Sometimes you just need to read something that leaves you feeling good. Highly recommend this delightful tale of a middle schooler who grows up homeschooled by a retirement community. This book is so full of heart and a very fun read. 💙📚 #booksky

The thing that always stays with me after reading a @charliejane.bsky.social book is the relationships between the characters. The characters are deep and nuanced too, but the relationships are what lingers. 💙📚 1/3

Age yourself with your first computer.

This computer and one of those two tape drives, hooked up to a TV. And that copy of Gortex and The Microchips on the tapes visible in that black box.

This is a @charliejane.bsky.social stan account. My very first skeet was about Victories Greater Than Death pulling me out of a reading slump.

Read. This. Book. Read it to escape from reality. Read it to process reality. Read it because art is resistance and stories are love. Go. Read. 💙📚

Rock Manning Goes for Broke by @charliejane.bsky.social is a fever dream of dystopian violence and belonging and growing up starring Buster Kenton’s stunt man in a film school senior project except it’s a perfect novella that is none of that and all that and more. Just go read it. 💙📚
