I sometimes feel like I lived in an alternate universe where this album was the height of popularity. No one seems to even recognise it now, let alone love it as much as I do.

We also have to realise the time at which it was written. Books were then much more important for expanding horizons and leading to the curiosity that would develop into learning. These days, there is a plethora of readily available and distributable information, thus we tend to prefer brevity.

So, admittedly, I’m an inker, and am completely naive to the processes of colouring like that (digitally), but what is the step where you apply a layer of colour and then the image flashes and the colour has layers against the ink? For example: the light blue layer flashes and the is shadowed?

Personal story of this book: I got this at an antique shop in Arkansas (near Pigott) whilst traveling there in the 90s. Got it CGC graded and gave to my best friend as a bday gift a few years back. When he passed last year, I got it back, and now I display it proudly and think of him often.

According to Walt himself, this was the cover to the very first comic book that he himself wrote. He was pencilling the art for battlestar galactica at the time and was able to slide into the writing angle of the book, this being his first.

I’ve been trying to remember the name of this series for years! Isn’t there a part where a son becomes older than his father because of time-space travel complications? That had such an impact on my young mind. Thanks!
