They can be tricky for sure. When you spot one and get your" eye in" as they say. A few more often pop out of nowhere.

Had at least three singing Song thrushes yesterday great to hear as it's a species in big decline. There seems to be good numbers at Brockhole nature reserve though.

Sounds like a cracking high tide watch at New Passage! Gotta love the mix of waders, ducks, and even a stonechat keeping an eye on things. Lapwings always bring a bit of drama, and wigeon numbers must be building nicely. Any signs of snipe lurking in the reeds? Worth a closer look I reckon.

I photographed one in Bulgaria a few years back I was literally photographing darkness ! Hi ISO brought the Owl out though.
