There are well over 500 people here in Arlington to testify on the redistricting plan— there’s no way every person will be heard tonight if House Committee Chair Vasut cuts testimony AGAIN
I might not be able to testify (like in Austin) despite traveling to Arlington
— 2 hrs later I’m sat!

Every single person I’ve met this weekend has changed my life in a way I could never imagine. I just wish it hadn’t been under these circumstances. This should not be our reality.

Every step of the way these Sunrisers showed up with empathy, courage, passion and understanding. They even made it to the capitol for office visits! I’m so grateful to have the privilege of knowing and organizing with them.

A woman who had to come in and organize relief for her mom’s neighborhood because after a week of waiting she realized no one else would come. And among all of this, the flowers still bloom. “Where flowers bloom, so does hope.”

We learned of families who were forced to hear the screams of their neighbors pleading for help as the river waters rose. A father who was swept by the river and watched his entire family be taken away.

Pieces of pulverized sheetrock that once lined the walls of a home filled with laughter, but is now level and nowhere to be found. Acres of land where six houses stood, completely leveled.
