Aside from his native language, the guy I previously mentioned also speaks English and Spanish fluently. I've also heard him speak with varying levels of proficiency

For better or worse, people in the military tend to be fairly conservative. Re: foreigners in Ukraine, it's no different. Most of the people I'm around (especially the *ugh* other Americans) tend to find my takes on a lot of issues to be naive (I've been called a libtard more than once).

I suspect they're very similar to the stories I have involving Georgians and literally anything involving explosives (they have almost killed me as many times as the Russians have).
