What really does it for me is the way the homunculi that join you feel like fully formed characters, having little conversations between each other and Lilac (who actually talks!) to build up the feeling that this is you and your buds. Man, that was good as hell.

ENDER MAGNOLIA: BLOOM IN THE MIST - God damn what a massive step up from ENDER LILIES. Like Lilies was a fantastic search-action game with great vibes and strong design but this elevates all of what was good about it in every way while also bringing a lot of life and personality to the table.

I loved all the surreal elements and the terror and majesty of space, and like in The Shining, there's a real horror to how it feels to be inside a place that seems to actively wish to do you harm in some way (though more explicitly and directly in this case with HAL 9000).

2001 A SPACE ODYSSEY - I'd seen parts of it before but never all the way through. Gotta say I can see why this has such a massive influence on the cultural memory, and it's wild seeing some of those things in their original form after they were parodied to death. Genuinely so good.

CASTLEVANIA: RONDO OF BLOOD - Peak Classicvania tbh. Sick as fuck. Not sure if it's my favorite of them but I'd definitely say it's the best. Lived up to the hype for sure. I just wish it had more iframes sometimes. Maria Renard is the absolute best??
