Building an America where everyone can succeed. Ranking Member @bobbyscott.house.gov‬.
President Trump would rather break the law than feed hungry children and seniors.

If Republicans allow the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits to expire, nearly all marketplace enrollees will face significantly higher premium costs.

On average, premiums will more than double.
October 29, 2025 at 9:15 PM
By refusing to extend ACA premium tax credits, Republicans will cause health care costs to skyrocket for 24 million Americans across the country.

Democrats won't stop fighting to prevent working families' costs from rising.

In response to yet another GOP shutdown, @bobbyscott.house.gov & @repbonamici.bsky.social are introducing a bill to protect WIC benefits from partisan gridlock.
The WIC Benefits Protection Act will guarantee mandatory funding so pregnant women & infants don’t lose access to healthy food and care.
October 14, 2025 at 6:44 PM
If Republicans allow ACA tax credits to expire, it would be the largest single-year price hike in history.

In fact, there is no historical precedent for such a significant increase in out-of-pocket premiums for health insurance that covers tens of millions of Americans.
October 8, 2025 at 5:42 PM
Before the shutdown, @bobbyscott.house.gov urged USDA to minimize any impacts to WIC.

Since then, USDA has released additional funding and provided states with guidance on how to prevent interruptions.

This shutdown should not impact WIC benefits for pregnant women and infants.
October 7, 2025 at 5:39 PM
The Trump Administration is threatening to unnecessarily cut WIC benefits — taking away food and resources from pregnant women and infants — while making sure construction continues on their $200 million ballroom during the government shutdown.

Got it. Cool move, guys.

Here is a letter from Ranking Member @bobbyscott.house.gov and @repbonamici.bsky.social urging the USDA to minimize disruptions to the WIC program during a government shutdown.
October 1, 2025 at 6:42 PM
Once again, the Trump Administration is threatening to hurt the well-being of pregnant women and children if they don’t get their way.

Russ Vought is wrong. The Trump Administration *can* support states to keep the WIC program running during a government shutdown.
October 1, 2025 at 6:41 PM
Trump just "mafia-style" threatened to cut programs like WIC.

Roughly 500,000 pregnant women and 40 percent of babies in the US depend on WIC for access to healthy food.

Republicans would rather take food away from women and children than reduce the cost of your health care

This is who President Trump and Congressional Republicans think are America's "working families."
September 3, 2025 at 4:39 PM
On Labor Day, we honor the achievements of American workers. From securing safer working conditions to establishing the 40-hour work week, union workers have built a stronger, fairer, and more prosperous nation.
September 1, 2025 at 3:00 PM
The Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans' so-called "pro-worker" bill is projected to kill close to 700,000 jobs.

Guess we have a different definition of pro-worker.
August 6, 2025 at 7:06 PM
Trump abruptly fired the Bureau of Labor Statistics Commissioner after 3 months of weak job numbers. Now, Democrats are demanding a hearing.

Firing a nonpartisan official won’t change the fact that Trump's policies are hurting American workers. @bobbyscott.house.gov

Housing costs keep rising.
Food costs keep rising.
Child care costs keep rising.
Health care costs keep rising.

Yet, workers earning the federal minimum wage, $7.25 an hour, have not gotten a raise since 2009.
July 24, 2025 at 4:38 PM
All Republicans just voted against Rep. @repyassansari.bsky.social amendment.

This would require coaches to report to Title IX coordinators anytime they have reason to believe a student is being abused, which could have prevented the abuse of many athletes at Ohio State University.
July 23, 2025 at 7:37 PM
Heat remains the leading weather-related killer, yet there is still no federally enforceable heat standard.

Today, a group of bipartisan, bicameral lawmakers reintroduced the Asunción Valdivia Heat Illness, Injury, and Fatality Prevention Act to protect workers from heat.

The high cost of child care is a burden on families and the economy.

Under @bobbyscott.house.gov and @murray.senate.gov Child Care for Working Families Act, the typical family will pay no more than $15 a day for child care.
July 16, 2025 at 7:54 PM
Since returning to office, President Trump has routinely prioritized the wealthy over the needs of working people. And the results are clear.

During President Biden’s first five months in office, the economy created 2.9 million jobs. Comparitively, Trump has created 671,000.
July 3, 2025 at 3:37 PM
Trump and republicans are gambling with people’s lives. Their ‘Big Ugly Bill’ guts Medicaid, stripping health care from millions.

The human cost could be deadly.
July 2, 2025 at 9:11 PM
Republicans are cutting health care, education, and access to school meals to give tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy.

Working families deserve better.
July 1, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Republicans’ 'One Big Ugly Bill' is simple: tax cuts for billionaires, paid for by kicking 17 million people off their health care.
July 1, 2025 at 7:09 PM
Happy #FathersDay!

Raising a child was already expensive. Now, thanks to Trump's tariffs, new parents are paying 24% more on baby products.

Families need relief. Committee Democrats are committed making child care and health care more affordable.

Children belong in the classroom, not on the factory floor.

Today, on the World Day Against Child Labor, @bobbyscott.house.gov and @repilhan.bsky.social introduced the Protecting Children Act, the most robust proposal yet to strengthen the enforcement and end child labor.
June 12, 2025 at 5:21 PM
Oops, 213 House Republicans just voted AGAIN to pass their “Big Ugly Bill," which:

❌Reduces or eliminates Pell Grants for 4 million students.
❌Rips access to free school meals away from up to 18.3 million children.
❌Kicks 16 million people off their health insurance.
