Replacing one coercive and hegemonic superpower with another is neither "values-based" nor based on "realism". This seems to me a deeply cynical move that will only ensure that Canada shifts its dependence instead of diversifying.

He also stated that this approach needs to be taken collectively between democratic countries because a fragmented approach is a weak and unworkable one. Unfortunately, this entire argument is heavily contradicted by his new trading agreement with China.

I'd rather take a chance on someone new who has strong domestic policies than support someone who has proven themselves incapable of standing up to bullies like Trump.

Well, I don't like that. However, I don't really see a better choice at the moment. The Conservatives haven't had an original thought since Thatcher, and we all know how the last time went. Farage is a nutjob at best and seems like he would rather Putin were PM. The only other option is the Lib Dems
