Following his statements on the campaign trail that police should have the right to be “very violent” and suggesting giving them “one really violent day,” President Trump issued an EO calling for military assets to be transferred to local police. https://bit.ly/4lXylOj

🚨 Hundreds of community safety grants, which helped cut gun violence by up to 70%, abruptly canceled — and millions of dollars in critical funding wiped away.

The programs are for crime victims, mental health and hate crime support, and the DOJ says it’s “wasteful spending.”

This entire memo issued today is chilling.

But especially the false assertion that the President’s interpretation of law governs.

The Rule they are referring to was subject to the formal federal rule-making procedure and finalized.

It CANNOT be undone by an executive order.

Federal agencies have been ordered to scrub their websites of anything “DEI” related.

This will especially affect: CDC, DOE, DOJ, and OJJDP

Trump’s Death Penalty Executive Order is somehow even more sinister than one can imagine.

He essentially orders the AG to make prison conditions for the 37 people whose death row sentences were commuted as horrendous as possible.

Their cruelty has always been the point.

The Laken Riley Act has now passed both the Senate and the House and will be sent to the president to sign into law.

It is completely void of due process and has no minimum age requirement. A 10-year-old accused of shoplifting will be separated from their family and detained indefinitely.

The #Hegseth vote was a real bellwether for how beholden this Senate will be to Trump.

We are in a lot of trouble.

The Laken Riley Act would essentially mandate indefinite detention for people who are undocumented and arrested for/charged with certain offenses. The bill does not protect young people who may be arrested for minor things.

Breaking: Senate likely to pass a bill that will allow a 10 year old who steals a candy bar from a store to be separated from their family and held indefinitely in immigration detention!!!
