Reading this (Pachinko by Min Jin Lee) was like discovering a bruise and not remembering where it came from but still feeling the hurt. It absolutely was an incredible but dense read and I’m still thinking about it. Be mindful of the triggering content going into it tho!

If you haven’t had the chance to pick up this book, you are absolutely missing out. It’s a wonderful time and it feels parallel to The Little Prince and Iron Giant. I can’t wait to read the rest from this author honestly.

The best thing about a book club server is being open to new reads and things you wouldn’t normally be drawn to: for example, Earthlings by Sayaka Murata. (It’s a time and a half, incredibly written but also please read a content warning list first. Don’t let the hedgehog fool you.)
